there are a few spots left for the upcoming season. if you are playing Open league and waffling about whether or not you should play Rec think about this: it is likely that the next Open season won't be starting until after the New Year. if you are on a team that either won't make the playoffs or will be out in 2 that will be an extremely long wait to get back on the ice. Rec league would keep you skating and give you a chance to work on your game for the upcoming Open season.
