Atlanta's Nasty Nest

TSN has a video with X talking about how deep they are in defense and that if he has to go to another team to get ice time he will.......

Seems like someone isn't good enough to crack the Leaves defense corps:
Komisarek - Kaberle
Finger - Beauchemin
White - Schenn

XLB.

Exelby is a Brian Burke type. The fact that he can't crack that blueline should tell him something. While I think there may be some interest somewhere around the NHL for X, once he's there, they'll likely find out why he's been a healthy scratch.

Agree. I want Exelby back but olny in the broadcast booth with Kamal. On ice his decisions are questionable at best and the lack of speed puts him contantly behind the play.

he would fit in great on a pair with Wade Redden on the Rangers.

XLB is never going to crack the lineup now with Phaneuf the Goof in TO.

• Dion Phaneuf takes Garnet Exelby's No. 3 for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Meanwhile at practice, fellow former Calgary Flames player Fredrik Sjostrom is skating with Rickard Wallin and Nikolai Kulemin, while a shortage of available bodies has forced defenseman Jeff Finger to skate with Lee Stempniak and John Mitchell; making Finger, for the moment, the most overpaid forward on the team.
