Bergfors, Oduya, Patrice Cormier and a 1st rounder. We got a good package, especially for a rental.

Oh we got a hell of a deal. I'm quite happy with this. Kovy's not going to stay there long term since he's going to have to play d. I bet DW did this on purpose to teach Kovy a lesson. hahaha

Patrice Cormier is a disgrace to hockey, that is all.

Here is another aspect of this deal, DW will need to spend 13 mil next year just to get to the cap FLOOR. Think we are going to be buyers? Think Chicago will be calling for that second first round pick in exchange for Versteeg, Buf or Sharp come draft day?

I am not thrilled about Cormiers actions but then no one was bithing about Army breaking Coles NECK when we got him, just saying. If he tones it down and becomes a Clarkson type player he could be a very solid asset.

We get anything for Army and Max and we are in decent shape as an organization and we are buyers in a buyers market.

I think this is a good deal for us, I don't think Kovy was ever planning to re-sign with us even if we would have offered him the max for 12 years....At least we got something for him, instead of nothing in a couple of months...

It's not like a team was going to trade us their superstar for our unsigned superstar. He is a rental, and we got a good return. He wanted the max allowed salary, and I think it would of been the wrong decision to give him that. ASG isn't going to spend to the cap and so 20+% of the teams budget on one player would be insane.

At least now our power play won't consist of passes to kovy, shots wide that ring around and out and kovy mishandles at the blueline.
