Chelios' Army

Folks, Chelios will not play here unless there are a number of injuries on the blueline.

Here is the supposed reason this has happened. The Wolves signed him to a couple of sucessive tryout contracts, they could not sign him to another so he was about to be one extra body to the Wolves organzation. The Thrashers just moved Oystrick (even though he reamins with the Wolves) and they like what he has done in Chicago with Kulda, Postma and the kids. Signing Chelios now means it is a small dollar amount and they gain a 10th defenseman with NHL experience. He was signed and then put on waivers since he is not coming to the Thrashers. He should clear since anyone could have had him at any time during the season so far.

It is a deep depth signing. If Chelios is in a Thrashers sweater we are in deep injury trouble.

As someone tweeted earlier, signing Chelios is good because he can tell people what it was like when Atlanta was burned in 1917.

Gen. Sherman burnt Atlanta to the ground in 1864 if my Civil War memory serves me correctly. Is there another burning of Atlanta I don't know about?
